New Zealand opt to bowl against India

New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and opted to field against India on Sunday in the final group match of the Champions Trophy, which will determine the semi-final lineup.

Both teams enter the match in Dubai unbeaten, with the winner securing the top spot in Group A and setting up a semi-final clash against Australia.

This match marks a significant milestone for Virat Kohli, as he plays his 300th one-day international. The Indian batting star found form in the previous game, scoring a century in a crucial win against arch-rivals Pakistan. Regardless of the final standings and their opponent, India will compete in the first semi-final in Dubai on Tuesday, having refused to travel to host nation Pakistan due to political tensions.

New Zealand, meanwhile, will head to Lahore after the match, where the second semi-final will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday.

The Black Caps have made one change from their victory over Bangladesh, bringing in Daryl Mitchell in place of Devon Conway. India have also made a change, with spinner Varun Chakravarthy replacing pace bowler Harshit Rana.

From Group B, South Africa and Australia have secured the top two spots.

Teams:

India: Rohit Sharma (capt), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, KL Rahul (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy.

New Zealand: Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Kane Williamson, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham (wk), Glenn Phillips, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner (capt), Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, Will O’Rourke.
